The standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive on the 2022 Outback Wilderness is just the start of its off-road capability. A 260-horsepower direct-injection SUBARU BOXER® turbocharged engine is standard, providing 277 pound-feet of torque for thrilling everyday driving.
The Outback Wilderness can take you nearly anywhere with up to 9.5 inches of ground clearance and standard X-MODE. X-MODE works by dynamically adjusting the all-wheel-drive system on slippery terrain to get maximum grip. When you descend challenging slopes near Linwood, Hill Descent Control offers you additional stability and confidence.
With up to 3,500 pounds of towing capability and an optional trailer hitch available, this 2022 Outback Wilderness enables you to carry all the equipment you need to improve your trip.
New Outback Wilderness Interior & Exterior Design
The 2022 Outback Wilderness is intended to make every drive comfortable for passengers. It uses the water-repellant StarTex® upholstery to provide durable and feel-good seating. Heated front and rear outboard seats, power-adjustable front seats and dual-zone climate control offer comfort throughout the year.
Standard elevated roof rails offer extra flexibility, especially with a static carry-weight of 700 pounds, or 220 pounds when in motion. In addition, the integrated tie-downs make it more flexible and simpler to secure your goods. These tie-downs are hidden away by anodized copper accents when not in use.

The new Wilderness comes standard with a STARLINK® 11.6-inch Multimedia Plus infotainment system, which includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM and more. You'll also have 4G LTE Wi-Fi capability. Upgrading to the STARLINK® Multimedia Navigation system will give you a high-resolution GPS navigation system in addition to everything the Multimedia Plus system provides.
